Netflix Sets Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Premiere Date

Netflix has set January 19, 2027, as the premiere date for the second season of Blue Eye Samurai, announcing that the animated series will continue Mizu’s story in London alongside storylines in Japan. The release date was announced with a new teaser. Netflix’s season description says Mizu’s quest for revenge takes her to London, where she encounters new allies and old adversaries. In Japan, Akemi and Taigen navigate Edo Castle under a new shogun, while Ringo searches for a new purpose. Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, with Brenda Song, Darren Barnet and Masi Oka returning as Akemi, Taigen and Ringo. Netflix’s announcement also names Jonathan Pryce, Joel Kim Booster and Sherry Cola as additions to the voice cast. The season is reported to have six episodes, but Netflix has not announced whether they will be released together or on a staggered schedule. The new season follows the first, which premiered in November 2023. Its creators, Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, are also writers and executive producers.
