Seahawks Agree to Add Joe Mixon, Pending Medical Exam

Published 5 October 2026

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to add running back Joe Mixon, with his expected move to the practice squad still contingent on a medical examination, according to reports published Monday. Seattle worked out Mixon earlier that day, and the reports described the team as moving toward a deal. They do not confirm that he completed the exam or officially joined the roster. The prospective addition comes as Seattle manages injuries at running back. Rookie Jadarian Price was placed on injured reserve with a chest injury and is expected to miss at least four games, according to the reports. Zach Charbonnet has not played this season while recovering from a torn ACL. Coach Mike Macdonald said Seattle had opened Charbonnet’s 21-day practice window, a step that allows the team to evaluate his return to practice. Mixon is expected to join a backfield that includes Emanuel Wilson and George Holani if the practice-squad arrangement is completed. Wilson handled the lead role in Seattle’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers while Price and Charbonnet were unavailable.
