Saudi Arabia Intensifies Yemen Air Campaign After Houthi Attacks

Published 14 October 2026

Saudi Arabia intensified its air campaign in Yemen on Tuesday as renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi airports heightened security concerns and disrupted air travel, according to the Saudi-led coalition and officials cited in reports. The coalition said it struck Houthi fuel reserves, tanks and energy terminals. The attacks’ full toll and some details of their aftermath could not be independently established from the available accounts. A Houthi missile struck a passenger terminal at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday, according to one report, which said 13 people were killed and more than 300 injured. Another report also gave a death toll of 13, but described the number injured as around 300. The material does not establish an independently verified casualty count or a shared cutoff for the injury figures. A separate account said another Houthi attack on Sunday killed an airport worker and led to the airport’s closure until October 17. It also reported that regional and international airlines suspended flights to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted additional missiles on Tuesday.
