Sanaa Strikes Kill One, Houthi Officials Blame Saudi Arabia
Strikes in Yemen’s capital killed one person and wounded 12, according to Yemen’s Houthi-run Health Ministry, while Houthi media blamed Saudi Arabia for the attacks. Saudi Arabia had not immediately commented on the allegation in reports published Monday, October 12, 2026. Health Ministry spokesman Anees al-Asbahi said one strike hit a salt factory in Sanaa’s Hamadan district, killing a man and wounding eight people. A separate strike on a house wounded a woman and three children, he said. The reports also identified the Thourah district among areas targeted, but provided no further details about damage there. The ministry’s casualty figures and the claim of Saudi responsibility have not been independently verified in the reports. The strikes came amid continuing Houthi missile and drone attacks directed toward Saudi airports, according to the accounts. Separately, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said a drone struck the MT Petro Dolphin in the Strait of Hormuz area on Sunday, October 11. Two of the tanker’s 11 Indian sailors were missing, the ministry said. It also reported that an unknown projectile struck the Marshall Islands-flagged MT Valthera, causing a fire.
