Saudi Arabia Intensifies Airstrikes in Yemen After Houthi Attacks

Published 14 October 2026

Saudi Arabia intensified airstrikes in Yemen on Tuesday, targeting Houthi fuel reserves, tanks and energy terminals, as the coalition sought to respond to a wave of attacks on Saudi territory. The Saudi-led coalition said it had also intercepted additional missiles fired toward the kingdom. The escalation followed attacks during the preceding week on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and the headquarters of Saudi Aramco, according to reports. The airport strikes disrupted air travel, while the attack on the oil company’s headquarters was reported to have caused a fire. Details of the attacks and their consequences have varied across accounts. A coalition spokesperson said Saudi forces had destroyed 127 Houthi weapons-storage facilities and launch platforms. The coalition also said Houthi forces had acquired advanced military technology with help from regional actors. These claims were not independently confirmed in the available reporting. Reports gave differing casualty counts for the October 10 airport attack. Two accounts reported 12 deaths and more than 300 injuries, while another reported 13 deaths and hundreds injured.
