Reacher Episode 7 Ends With Sampson Sacrifice
The latest episode of Reacher season 4 has delivered one of the show's most dramatic turns, with Congressman John Sampson apparently sacrificing his life to stop a chemical weapon attack at a political fundraiser. The episode, titled Vote for Sampson, aired on September 9, 2026, and sets the stage for the season finale scheduled for September 16. In the episode, Jack Reacher and his team learn that Lila and Amisha Hoth intend to deploy a biological weapon in public before selling its formula on the dark web. The group initially suspects the attack could target a highway, but when Reacher informs Sampson of the plan, the congressman realizes his own fundraiser is the likely target. Reacher, too far away to intervene in time, walks Sampson through indicators that a suicide bomber might display. According to the episode's account, Sampson identifies the bomber, Tomas Waberi, whom the Hoths recruited from Djibouti, and uses his Delta training to follow him through the crowd. When Reacher arrives and alerts security, the commotion panics Waberi, who reaches for his detonator. Sampson lunges at him and pulls them both into the Delaware River, where the explosive detonates underwater.
