Prime Video Releases Trailer for Muhammad Ali Series
Prime Video has released a trailer for The Greatest, a scripted series about Muhammad Ali, ahead of its scheduled premiere on November 4, 2026. The series follows Ali’s early life as Cassius Clay and his rise in boxing, with Jaalen Best portraying the young fighter. The trailer introduces a cast that includes Omari Hardwick as Ali’s father, Cassius Clay Sr.; Dana Gourrier as his mother, Odessa Bird Clay; Kai Parham as his brother, Rudy Clay; Amin Joseph as boxer Sonny Liston; Giovanni Ribisi as trainer Angelo Dundee; and Michael Ealy as Malcolm X. The series is described as the first authorized scripted series about Ali. The first season covers the period from Clay’s gold-medal win at the 1960 Olympics through his first heavyweight title in 1964, according to the series’ synopsis and descriptions from its producers. It focuses on his formative years in Louisville and the family relationships around him, alongside his boxing career. The series was filmed in Toronto earlier in 2026. Lonnie Ali, the boxer’s widow and an executive producer, has said the show gives attention to his childhood and family life, which she said are less prominent in many documentaries.
