Netflix releases final trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2

Netflix released a final trailer Wednesday for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, a new 10-episode animated story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. The series is scheduled to premiere worldwide on October 20, 2026, and will follow a new group of characters in Night City. Promotional material describes the season as a standalone story about redemption and revenge, rather than a direct continuation of the first series’ plot. The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners debuted on Netflix in 2022. Although the new season returns to the same fictional setting, its central characters and story are new. The trailer features Roman Carax, a young film enthusiast who documents people in a city where braindance has displaced traditional filmmaking, and Talia Yang, who is shown leaping through the air. It also introduces D, a netrunner haunted by people he has lost, and Weak Kingsley, a veteran edgerunner who once went by the name King. The promotional material sketches aspects of their backgrounds, but does not explain all the relationships among the characters or reveal the full plot. Kai Ikarashi, who directed an episode of the first series, is directing the new season.
