Slash Says Guns N’ Roses Expects 2027 Touring Break

Published 14 October 2026

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash said the band expects to be largely off the road in 2027 and hopes to use the break to organize existing material and begin working together on music. He described the plan in an interview with radio host Eddie Trunk, while stopping short of confirming a recording schedule or a completed album. Slash said the group would finish its announced performances in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand in November and December 2026. After those shows, he said, the band would “basically” be off the road the following year. His remarks describe an expected break, not a formal band announcement. The guitarist said Guns N’ Roses has a substantial amount of material that needs to be sorted and assembled. He hopes the band can move into that work during the break, explaining that touring makes it difficult for the members to focus on music together. Slash said he, bassist Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose tend to create individually while on tour, and that bringing them together to work is challenging under those conditions.
