Prime Video Cancels Spider-Noir After One Season

Prime Video has canceled the Nicolas Cage-led series "Spider-Noir" after just one season, despite critical acclaim and a leading number of Emmy nominations for the platform. The decision not to renew the show for a second season was announced on September 4, 2026, just over three months after its debut in late May. The series, which starred Nicolas Cage as a jaded private investigator version of Ben Reilly, also known as Spider-Man Noir, garnered significant praise from critics and audiences. It achieved a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes among critics and a 90% score from fans. "Spider-Noir" also secured 11 Emmy nominations, the most of any Prime Video series in 2026, including for its showrunners and executive producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Despite its critical success and award recognition, viewership figures are believed to be a key factor in the cancellation. While the show logged 2.6 billion viewing minutes in its first six weeks, according to Nielsen, and had a strong launch week in the U.S., it reportedly fell out of Prime Video's top 10 rankings sooner than anticipated.
