Poland Arrests Man Suspected of Planning Attack on Tusk

Published 11 October 2026

Polish authorities arrested a man suspected of threatening and planning an attack on Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński said Sunday. Officials have not identified the man or disclosed details of the alleged plan. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was also named as a possible target in the warning that prompted a security response. Police received information about a possible attack, prompting Interior Minister Kierwiński and Tomasz Siemoniak, the minister coordinating special services, to order action, Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Gałecka said. Representatives of the police, the State Protection Service and the Internal Security Agency met at the agency’s Counter-Terrorism Centre in Warsaw on Sunday to discuss the matter. Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the official coordinating Poland’s special services, said authorities assessed there was a high probability the threat would be carried out. The information first reached the State Protection Service and was then passed to police, he said. Government spokesperson Adam Szłapka told Polish media that Tusk had been informed early Sunday.
