Phil Taylor to return for MODUS pairs event with Lewis

Phil Taylor plans to return to competitive darts for the MODUS Super Series International Pairs tournament in Portsmouth from November 23 to 28, joining former partner Adrian Lewis. Taylor, 66, said the chance to play alongside Lewis was a key reason he accepted the invitation. The announcement concerns a single tournament and does not establish a broader return to the professional circuit. Taylor, a 16-time world champion, retired from the Professional Darts Corporation circuit in 2018. He said he had been asked to return before, but wanted to do so for the right reason, and described Lewis as one of the few players he would come back to play alongside. Taylor also said the pair know each other’s games well and that he was looking forward to competing with him again. The two previously represented England together and won four World Cup of Darts titles, according to the reports. Lewis, a two-time world champion, said the opportunity to reunite was special and that the pair know what it takes to win together.
