Littler, who won last year’s championship, posted on Instagram that the promoters had placed one of Britain’s biggest fights on the same night as the opening of the darts event. He ended the message with, “You had one job.” In a follow-up post, Littler said people were being too sensitive and described his first message as “literally a joke,” according to reports quoting his social media posts. His initial comment had been directed at Barry and Eddie Hearn, who are involved in boxing promotion and the Professional Darts Corporation. The scheduled dates overlap, but the events are expected to unfold at different times. The darts competition is set to begin during the evening of December 11.
