PCB reportedly seizes Pakistan players' phones

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly taken possession of mobile phones belonging to several national team players ahead of the third and final Test against England, which is scheduled to begin on September 9, 2026. The devices are expected to remain with board officials until the conclusion of the match at Edgbaston. The PCB has not officially provided a reason for this action, and the identities of the players whose phones were confiscated have not been disclosed. This development comes amidst significant upheaval for the Pakistan team, which has suffered heavy defeats in the opening two Tests of the series, trailing England 2-0. Following the losses at Headingley and Lord's, the PCB implemented sweeping changes to the squad and coaching staff. Seven players, including prominent figures like Mohammad Rizwan, ImamulHaq, and Salman Ali Agha, were released from the touring party. Head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also relieved of their duties, with Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke appointed as interim replacements for the final Test.
