OpenAI Rolls Out GPT-6 and Interactive ChatGPT Interface
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 models and an interactive visual interface for ChatGPT on October 7, adding responses that can combine text with diagrams, charts, forms and tools users can manipulate within a conversation. The company said the rollout started with paid plans, with access for Free and Go users scheduled to begin October 8. The interface, called Intelligent UI, is designed to select a response format according to the request. A comparison might appear side by side, while an explanation could include an interactive diagram. For other tasks, ChatGPT may generate a chart, calculator, bill-splitting tool or game. The system can still respond in plain text when that is more suitable, OpenAI said. OpenAI said GPT-6 Sol began rolling out to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts on October 7. GPT-6 Luna was scheduled to begin reaching Free and Go accounts on October 8. Enterprise availability can depend on administrator settings. The update applies to ChatGPT’s main Chat experience; the models used by Work and Codex are unchanged. The company said the interface is built from streamable components assembled by a compiler as the model generates its answer.
