Oasis Documentary Premieres at Venice Festival

Published 6 September 2026

The world premiere of the new Oasis documentary, "Oasis Don't Look Back In Anger," took place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Venice Film Festival. The film chronicles the band's 2024 reunion and subsequent Live 25 tour, marking a significant moment in the reconciliation of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher after years of public animosity. The documentary, produced by Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, debuted in the Out of Competition Non Fiction category. Both Liam and Noel Gallagher attended the premiere, making their first public appearance together since the band's disbandment in 2009. In interviews featured in the film and discussed in reports, Noel Gallagher described his younger brother Liam as "delightful," a word he admitted he never thought he would use. He shared that the petty annoyances that once plagued their relationship have faded, and they now communicate like "mates," texting each other regularly. "The music brought us together," Noel stated, reflecting on their renewed connection. Liam echoed this sentiment, noting that the reunion felt like a weight had been lifted and that they now view each other as equals.
