Oasis Archive Auctioned Amid Band Concerns

An extensive archive of Oasis recordings and memorabilia, featuring what is believed to be the only recording of the band's landmark 1996 concert at Loch Lomond, is set to be auctioned next month. The collection, compiled by former Oasis sound engineer Huw Richards, is estimated to fetch between £1.2 million and £1.6 million. The auction, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, will include 63 live shows, soundchecks, and over 100 hours of rehearsal material from the 1990s. Richards, who worked with the band from the release of their debut album in 1994 until 2001, recorded the tapes directly from the sound desk. Littleton Auctions, which is managing the sale in Evesham, Worcestershire, has described the archive as the only master collection of its kind in existence. The band has expressed concerns regarding the sale, and representatives have confirmed they do not support the auction. Ben Homer, managing director of Littleton Auctions, stated that the "Oasis camp is aware of the auction and has expressed concerns, which is entirely understandable given the scale and significance of the material.
