New Zealand replace injured Chapman and Foulkes for India T20Is
New Zealand have ruled Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes out of the five-match T20I series against India because of injuries, and have named Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner in their 16-player squad as replacements. The series is scheduled to begin on October 22 in Christchurch. New Zealand Cricket said Chapman sustained a hamstring injury and Foulkes has a hip-flexor injury. Chapman will miss the full T20I series, while no definitive timeline has been established for Foulkes’s return. The injury updates and squad changes were reported as part of the cricket board’s announcement. Chapman is targeting a return for the ODI series against India that follows the T20Is, but his availability for that series has not been confirmed. The reports do not give a return date for Foulkes. Clarkson, an allrounder, and Tickner, a fast bowler, join a squad captained by Mitchell Santner. The other players named are Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Bevon Jacobs, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert and Nathan Smith.
