Neeraj Chopra qualifies for Diamond League Finals despite missing three events

India's double Olympic medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the 2026 Diamond League Finals despite missing three of the five scheduled meets. Chopra secured the sixth and final spot in the standings, which will see him compete at the finals in Brussels on September 4 and 5. His qualification was confirmed following the Zurich Diamond League on August 27, an event he did not attend. The competition was won by Commonwealth Games champion Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage of Sri Lanka, who threw a massive 92.07 metres to take the top spot. This victory solidified Pathirage's position at the head of the standings with 39 points.
