Moove to End Nigeria Operations, Transfer Eligible Vehicles
Moove says it will end its operations in Nigeria and transfer eligible vehicles worth about ₦35 billion to customers, who will own them without further payments to the company for the vehicles. The Lagos-founded mobility company announced the decision on October 8, six years after beginning operations in the country. The transfer applies to eligible vehicles operated by existing customers. Moove said customers would owe no further vehicle payments from October 1, 2026. The announcement does not specify which customers or vehicles qualify or how the ownership transfer will be completed. Moove co-founder Ladi Delano said more than 9,000 customers had used the company’s Drive-to-Own and rental products in Nigeria. He said their work generated approximately ₦57 billion in revenue through Moove-financed vehicles. That revenue figure measures activity associated with financed vehicles, while the ₦35 billion estimate is the value of vehicles slated for transfer. Delano described the transfer as a gesture of gratitude to the customers who supported the company from its start in Lagos. He also thanked Moove’s Nigerian employees.
