Minecraft hotel planned for Chessington in 2027

Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have announced plans to open a Minecraft-themed hotel at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027, as part of a £50 million development that will also include a themed land and the Escape the Nether rollercoaster. The companies announced the project during the Minecraft Live broadcast on September 26. The hotel is planned to have 69 rooms across four floors, with 20 premium rooms and 49 standard rooms. An exact opening date and room rates have not been announced. Project descriptions say the hotel will feature rooms inspired by different Minecraft biomes, mineshaft-style corridors, an underwater-themed restaurant and a bar based on the game’s Woodland Mansion. The design is also expected to incorporate recognizable elements from the game, including block-like trees and animals. The hotel is intended to extend the park experience for visitors, though the companies have not released a detailed schedule or booking information. The hotel is one part of Minecraft World, a planned development at Chessington in southwest London. The wider project includes themed shops and dining, play areas and the Escape the Nether coaster.
