Mike and Zara Tindall discuss handling disagreements

Published 15 October 2026

Mike Tindall said he and his wife, Zara Tindall, sometimes leave disagreements unaddressed until they arise but are generally able to talk through them. The couple discussed their relationship during a joint appearance on the Talk Horse podcast, in comments released on October 14. Mike said the way they handle problems depends on the situation. Issues involving sport, animals and their children can be easier to navigate, he said, while other nuances are more difficult. He added that neither necessarily seeks out confrontation, but that they are usually good at talking once a problem surfaces. “You’ve just got to try and muddle your way through,” Mike said, according to the podcast remarks. Zara said they enjoy many of the same things, even though they do not agree on everything. Mike also credited their shared experience as professional athletes with helping them understand each other’s individual needs. He said that background had contributed to the relationship working over the years. The couple met at the 2003 Rugby World Cup, where Mike was part of England’s winning team, and married in 2011.
