Metal Gear Solid 4 Comes to Switch With PlayStation References Removed

Konami has released Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, bringing the long-unavailable PlayStation 3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern platforms for the first time, including Nintendo Switch. The collection launched worldwide on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The release marks a significant moment for game preservation, freeing Metal Gear Solid 4 from the aging and notoriously difficult-to-maintain PlayStation 3 hardware. The collection also includes the HD version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the Game Boy Color title Metal Gear Ghost Babel as bonus content.
