Meta Names MongoDB CEO to Lead Enterprise AI Unit

Meta announced a new enterprise artificial intelligence business on Monday, naming former MongoDB chief executive CJ Desai to lead the initiative as chief enterprise platform officer. The move was accompanied by an immediate leadership change at MongoDB: the company appointed former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO and said its board had begun a search for a permanent successor. Meta Enterprise Platform is intended to bring the company’s AI products and technology to businesses and developers. The initial lineup includes the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Desai will report directly to him and described the unit as a new major business pillar. The announcement establishes an organization and an initial product focus, but Meta has not disclosed when the offerings will become available, how they will be priced, which customers have signed on or what revenue the business might generate. The company also has not said whether the unit will have separate financial reporting. Its commercial scale therefore remains unclear.
