Mattel Names Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch as Its Next CEO

Published 1 October 2026

Mattel has named Roger Lynch, chief executive of Condé Nast and a Mattel board member since 2018, as its next CEO, setting up a leadership change at both companies. Lynch will succeed Ynon Kreiz, who is leaving Mattel after eight years. Condé Nast has appointed board member Mike Perlis interim CEO while it searches for Lynch’s successor. Mattel said Lynch will become chairman on October 2 and take over as CEO on or before November 2. One account described him as stepping into the CEO role on a Friday, but did not give a date that resolves the difference. Mattel’s chief legal officer, Jonathan Anschell, is to serve as interim principal executive officer until Lynch assumes the CEO position, according to a company announcement. Lynch has led Condé Nast since 2019. He said he will remain on its board as the company conducts its search for a permanent chief executive. Perlis, the company’s lead independent director, will oversee the interim period. No timetable for naming a permanent successor was reported. Kreiz will step down as Mattel chairman and CEO on October 2. Mattel said he is leaving for a senior leadership position at another public company.
