London march calls for UK to halt arms supplies to Israel

Published 10 October 2026

The Palestine Coalition organised a large pro-Palestinian march through central London on October 10, with demonstrators calling on the UK government to stop supplying arms to Israel. The Metropolitan Police reported 20 arrests linked to the demonstration. The march began at Victoria Embankment, crossed Westminster Bridge and continued through central London toward Whitehall and Parliament, where participants gathered for a rally. Marchers carried Palestinian flags and placards, including messages calling for an end to the war in Gaza and to UK arms supplies. Participants also observed a two-minute silence for Palestinians killed in Gaza. The Palestine Coalition and affiliated organisers estimated that about 250,000 people attended. That figure has not been independently verified; police had anticipated between 7,000 and 10,000 participants before the march, a pre-event estimate rather than a turnout count. The available reporting does not establish an independently counted attendance total. Police said six of the 20 arrested were suspected of criminal damage after climbing the Battle of Britain memorial.
