Live-action Moana digital release Sept 8

Disney's live-action adaptation of Moana is set to arrive on home viewing platforms, following its theatrical debut earlier this year. The film will be available for purchase or rental on digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango, starting September 8, 2026. Physical media releases, including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, will follow on October 6, 2026. A limited edition 4K UHD SteelBook featuring Dwayne Johnson as Maui and Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana is also slated for release on October 6. Directed by Thomas Kail, the live-action remake stars newcomer Catherine Lagaʻaia in the titular role and Dwayne Johnson reprising his voice role as the demigod Maui. The cast also includes Rena Owen as Gramma Tala, John Tui as Chief Tui, and Frankie Adams as Sina. The story mirrors the original 2016 animated film, following Moana as she answers the ocean's call to embark on a perilous journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti and save her people, aided by Maui. The home release will include a variety of bonus features.
