LinkedIn AI Slop Button Used Over 1M Times

Published 23 August 2026

LinkedIn says its new "Seems like AI slop" feedback button has been used more than 1 million times since its launch on July 30, 2026, as the platform intensifies efforts to reduce the visibility of low-quality, automated content. The tool, accessible through the three-dot menu on any post, allows members to flag content they believe was generated by artificial intelligence or appears to be low-effort spam. According to LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan, the user feedback, combined with updates to the company's detection systems, has led to a significant reduction in the reach of such material. In a post on Thursday, August 20, Srinivasan stated that users are now "experiencing 40 percent less views on what we classify as AI slop from just a few weeks ago." He clarified that this figure does not represent a 40 percent drop in the total volume of AI-generated content on the platform, but rather that posts identified as "AI slop" are receiving fewer views. The initiative follows analysis from AI detector Pangram, which found that 41 percent of LinkedIn's longform posts were fully generated by artificial intelligence. In response, LinkedIn has rolled out several measures.
