Killzone Remaster or Remake Reported
A beloved PlayStation exclusive action game franchise, Killzone, is reportedly being revived more than a decade after its last mainline entry. According to recent reports, developer Guerrilla Games is working with a third-party studio on a remaster or remake of a previous title in the series. The project is believed to be in the early stages of development. While the specific studio partnering with Guerrilla Games has not been definitively confirmed, speculation points to People Can Fly, the studio behind titles such as Bulletstorm and Outriders. People Can Fly entered into a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2025 to work on a game based on an undisclosed PlayStation intellectual property, codenamed Project Delta, which fans have long speculated could be related to Killzone or SOCOM. Killzone was once considered PlayStation's premier first-person shooter series. The original game debuted on the PlayStation 2 in 2004, receiving mixed reviews. Its sequel, Killzone 2, released in 2009, garnered significant critical acclaim and numerous awards.
