Kerry appears in court on terrorism preparation charge

Published 7 October 2026

Joshua Kerry appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 7 facing one charge of preparing terrorist acts, including alleged research into Nigel Farage and an alleged attempt to enter the Reform UK leader’s home. Prosecutors say the conduct covered by the charge took place between May 2024 and July 2026. The charge is an allegation, not a finding of guilt, and Kerry did not enter a plea at the hearing. Prosecutor Kashif Malik told the court that Kerry allegedly carried out online reconnaissance on prominent people and institutions and identified Farage’s home address. Malik said Farage’s partner found damage to the home’s door or doorframe and a bottle of lighter fluid outside in April 2025. A forensic examination found a tool mark, Malik said, and prosecutors infer that someone tried to gain entry. Accounts differ over whether the alleged visit occurred on April 19 or April 20, and the exact chronology remains unclear. Kerry, 28, spoke only to confirm his identity during the hearing. The case was sent to the Old Bailey, where he is due to appear on Friday.
