Jim Cummings Confirms He Will Not Voice Darkwing Duck in Disney Reboot

Veteran voice actor Jim Cummings, the original voice of Disney's Darkwing Duck, has revealed he will not reprise the role in the studio's long-developing reboot of the animated series. Cummings shared the news in a recent interview, stating that both he and fellow original cast member Terry McGovern are being replaced for the new project. Speaking to Collider at the premiere of the film Coyote vs. Acme, Cummings explained that he had recorded a pilot for the reboot "several years ago" to test its viability. He said the response was enthusiastic, but the production has since decided to recast the lead roles.
