Jessica Lange to Play Five Roles in American Horror Story 13

Jessica Lange will reprise four of her earlier roles and portray a fifth, unidentified character in the 13th season of American Horror Story, she said in a televised interview. The season is scheduled to premiere in the United States on FX on September 24, with streaming on Hulu; international streaming is listed on Disney+ beginning September 25. Lange said she would return as Constance Langdon, Sister Jude Martin, Fiona Goode and Elsa Mars, characters she played in the anthology’s first four seasons. She did not disclose the identity of the fifth character, saying she was curious whether viewers could guess who it is. The roles span the series’ Murder House, Asylum, Coven and Freak Show installments. Lange said the prospect of bringing back those characters was central to her decision to return. She has named Elsa Mars as the character she is most excited to play again; Constance Langdon is also expected to feature prominently, according to Lange’s interview remarks. Lange also said creator Ryan Murphy promised a musical number for one of her characters and that she would perform it during the new season.
