Ivors Academy honours seven music figures in London
The Ivors Academy honoured seven musicians and music-industry figures at a ceremony in London on October 1, recognising their contributions to music and work supporting songwriters and other creators. The recipients were Stormzy, James Blake, Annie Macmanus, MNEK, Emily Eavis, Chris Meehan and Victor Finn. The event took place at the InterContinental London Park Lane. The Academy’s honours recognise creators and executives whose work it says has helped raise standards in the music sector and improve opportunities for songwriters and composers. The organisation introduced the honours in 2025. Stormzy was recognised for his impact on British music and culture and for creating opportunities for others, according to the Academy. His work beyond music includes initiatives focused on education and emerging talent. James Blake was honoured for his artistry and advocacy for songwriters and artists. In remarks at the ceremony, Blake called for greater transparency in music-industry arrangements and said established musicians had a responsibility to support those who follow.
