Noah Kahan Releases Hunger Games Lead Single
Noah Kahan released “Draw You Out” on October 2 as the lead single for the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, a prequel film scheduled to open in theaters on November 20, 2026. Kahan wrote and produced the track with Aaron Dessner, drawing on the film’s story while seeking a personal connection to its characters, according to Kahan’s comments about the process. The song is the first release from the forthcoming soundtrack, which is scheduled for November 13, a week before the film’s planned theatrical opening. The film centers on a 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games, 24 years before the events of the original trilogy. The complete soundtrack and film have not yet been released. Kahan said he approached the assignment as a longtime fan of The Hunger Games books and films. He described trying to connect his own perspective with the characters and to respond to the way the filmmakers and author Suzanne Collins had shaped them. He said that personal connection mattered to him as he worked on the song with Dessner. Kahan characterized “Draw You Out” as a sad song, while noting that it contains some hopeful elements and a cool beat.
