ICE Takes Igbojekwe Into Custody After Guilty Plea

Published 10 October 2026

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe into custody on October 1, after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly-conduct charge stemming from a public exposure incident in Pennsylvania. The case has prompted competing claims about whether he was canvassing for Democratic congressional candidate Janelle Stelson when the incident occurred. East Pennsboro Township police arrested Igbojekwe on September 27. Court-record summaries say officers found him inside a vehicle wearing only a shirt, with his genitals exposed. Police initially charged him with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. The indecent-exposure charge and one disorderly-conduct count were later withdrawn, and he pleaded guilty to a separate third-degree misdemeanor disorderly-conduct count. The Department of Homeland Security said ICE took Igbojekwe into custody after his release from Cumberland County Prison. DHS described him as subject to removal. The supplied information does not establish a subsequent removal from the United States. DHS says Igbojekwe was canvassing for Stelson, who is the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District.
