Humphries and Price reach World Grand Prix final

Published 4 October 2026

Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price won their World Grand Prix semifinals in Leicester on Saturday, October 3, setting up a final between the two players. Humphries beat James Wade 5-3 to reach the championship match for the fourth consecutive year, while Price defeated Nathan Aspinall 5-2. Humphries, the world number two, will be seeking a second World Grand Prix title after winning the event in 2023. He has finished runner-up in each of the past two finals. The scheduled final is set for Sunday evening and will be played over a best-of-11-sets format, according to the tournament match listing. Against Wade, Humphries took the opening set before Wade levelled with a 141 checkout. The players traded sets and were tied 2-2 before Humphries moved ahead, winning three of the next four sets to close out the match. Wade claimed one of those sets to stay in contention, but Humphries secured the eighth set and the victory. Price also built an early lead in his semifinal, going three sets ahead before Aspinall responded with a 132 checkout and won a second set to narrow the gap to 3-2. Price regained control, taking the next two sets to book his place in the final.
