House House Withholds Big Walk From Xbox Over BDS Boycott
House House said it will not release its cooperative game Big Walk on Xbox, citing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement’s call to boycott Microsoft and its designation of Microsoft Games and Xbox as priority targets. The Australian studio announced the decision in a statement on October 15, saying it would reconsider an Xbox release only if Microsoft and/or Xbox are removed from the BDS boycott targets. The statement does not report any change to that position. House House said it had intended for groups of friends to play Big Walk together and acknowledged that keeping the game off Xbox works against that goal. The studio said the decision would disappoint some players and that it, too, would like the game to be available on the platform. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, according to the supplied reports. No Xbox version is available. The reports provide no indication that the studio has set a date or other condition for revisiting its decision beyond removal from the target list. BDS describes Microsoft as a priority boycott target because of its provision of Azure cloud and artificial intelligence services to the Israeli military.
