Honor unveils Magic 9 Pro Max in China

Honor has unveiled the Magic 9 Pro Max in China, introducing the first phone in its lineup to use the company’s Pro Max branding. Honor lists a 200-megapixel main camera and periscope telephoto camera, an 8,800mAh battery and support for 100-watt wired and 80-watt wireless charging. The company has confirmed an international launch but has not announced when the phone will be available outside China. The redesigned rear camera housing gives the phone a different look from previous models, with a wide rectangular module replacing the earlier circular design. Honor’s announced camera system pairs the two 200-megapixel cameras with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. The company is also promoting features developed with camera and film technology company ARRI, including ARRI Log C3 video recording. The specifications and feature claims have not been independently tested in the information available. Honor says the Magic 9 Pro Max has a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of 10,000 nits.
