Holdout juror Desronvil asks focus return to Clancy children

Michael Desronvil, the juror whose disagreement with the other 11 jurors left Lindsay Clancy’s trial deadlocked, used a video statement aired Monday to thank supporters and redirect attention to the three children at the center of the case. He named Cora, Dawson and Callan, saying they could not speak or defend themselves. Desronvil also thanked God for his Catholic faith and expressed gratitude for the prayers and emotional support he had received. The statement was his first video message about the case, though he had previously addressed the jury deliberations through public comments and his attorney, Edward Paltzik. A judge declared a mistrial on September 4 after jurors reported they could not reach a unanimous verdict. The trial concerned the deaths of Clancy’s three children in January 2023. Clancy’s defense argued she was not criminally responsible because she experienced postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors argued that she was aware of her actions. The deadlock left the case without a verdict. Desronvil has said he believed the evidence supported finding Clancy criminally responsible and denied having reasonable doubts. Paltzik has also said his client had no doubt.
