Morton Launches Site Naming Seven Cornell Lawsuit Defendants

Toby Morton has launched TheCornell7.org, a public advocacy website naming seven men accused in an unresolved civil lawsuit involving an alleged assault at Cornell University. The launch comes as the Tompkins County district attorney’s office reexamines the allegations and plans to present the matter to a grand jury with the complainant’s cooperation. No criminal charges have been filed, and the civil claims have not been decided in court. Morton, a former television writer, identified the seven men in an Instagram post and said the site would compile the complainant’s account, court materials, public records, institutional responses and other information he said would be verified before publication. The site lists the defendants under six page headings, but each is marked “Coming Soon” and currently provides no additional individual allegations or supporting materials. The website is a private project and has no formal role in the civil case or prosecutorial review.
