Hayley Atwell criticizes Captain Carter's Doctor Strange 2 death

Actress Hayley Atwell has renewed her criticism of how her character, Captain Carter, was portrayed and killed off in the 2022 Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, calling the scene a "complete disservice." Speaking at the For the Love of Fantasy SciFi convention in London over the weekend, Atwell expressed frustration with the brief cameo, which saw her alternate-universe version of Peggy Carter swiftly defeated by Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. Atwell, who first introduced the live-action Captain Carter in the animated series What If...?, was brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's live-action fold for the Sam Raimi-directed sequel.
