Gears of War E-Day Goes Gold Ahead of October Launch
Gears of War: E-Day has officially gone gold, marking the completion of development for the upcoming prequel in the third-person shooter franchise. The milestone was announced by developer The Coalition, with studio head Mike Crump calling it "a major milestone for the team as we enter the final stretch toward launch." The game is set for a global launch on October 6, 2026, with early access beginning on October 1 for players who purchase the Premium Edition. Preinstalls for the title will become available on September 29 at 8 a.m. PT for those who have preordered on Xbox Series X|S and PC, or for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Alongside the gold announcement, The Coalition released the final PC system requirements. The specifications reveal that a ray tracing-capable graphics card is mandatory to play the game on PC. The studio explicitly states that "graphics cards without dedicated hardware ray tracing support are not supported." For the recommended settings targeting 1440p resolution at 60 frames per second, players will need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K CPU.
