FX's Legends Reunites Sons of Anarchy Cast as Themselves
FX is moving forward with Legends, a limited series that reunites the cast of Sons of Anarchy as fictionalized versions of themselves, and star Charlie Hunnam says the unusual project began with his dreams. The series was announced by the network on Aug. 19, 2026, after word of the project leaked to news organizations, prompting FX to confirm it ahead of schedule. Hunnam said he had hoped to keep the reunion secret for as long as possible. Legends is not a continuation of the original drama, which ended in 2014 after seven seasons and killed off most of its major characters, including Hunnam's Jax Teller. Instead, the meta-thriller follows the actors themselves as they reunite at a fan convention more than a decade after the show signed off, only for the line between life and art to blur as the fractured brotherhood confronts a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they faced on screen. All I can say is that it's definitely not Season 8 of Sons of Anarchy, Hunnam said in interviews promoting the project.
