FX Adds Five Stars to Far Cry Anthology Series Cast
FX has announced five new cast members for its upcoming anthology series based on the "Far Cry" video game franchise. The additions are Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou. They join previously announced stars Rob McElhenney, Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi for the first season. The series is created by Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney, who also serve as executive producers. According to the announcement, the show will follow the anthology format of the video game franchise, with each season telling a standalone story in a new setting with a new cast of characters. This approach mirrors Hawley's work on the series "Fargo." Hawley explained the creative appeal of the format, stating it was "an exciting idea that we could build an anthology game adaptation where each season is a different story about civilized people thrown into situations where they have to become increasingly uncivilized." He added that he is not specifically adapting any of the existing games but wants to "have a dialog with this franchise." The new cast members bring significant experience.
