Fire near Mumbai TV sets leaves no reported casualties

Published 5 October 2026

A fire broke out near television production sets in Mumbai on Monday, October 5, prompting teams to leave the area; no injuries or casualties were reported by the productions. The fire’s cause and the extent of any damage remained unclear. The incident was reported near the sets of Pati Patni Aur Panga and MTV Hustle 5 at Film City. Accounts differed on whether filming was underway: a source associated with Pati Patni Aur Panga said its set was outside the affected area and no shoot was taking place, while the MTV Hustle 5 team said its finale shoot was in progress and artists were present. The Hustle team said everyone was safe and people were asked to leave. Reports also named Prime Focus Studios as the location of a fire in a tent outside the studio. BN Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, said the fire was contained quickly and damage was minor. The accounts did not establish whether the references to Film City and Prime Focus Studios described the same precise location or affected areas. Descriptions of the fire’s impact varied.
