Bowie80 plans global events for David Bowie’s 80th year

Published 5 October 2026

Organizers have announced Bowie80, a worldwide program of events, releases, collaborations and fan experiences planned for David Bowie’s 80th-birthday year in 2027. The campaign is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and continue throughout next year, with details to be shared through its website. Bowie would have turned 80 on January 8, 2027; he died in 2016, two days after his 69th birthday. The first announced partnership is with Nordstrom, which plans limited-edition Bowie-themed clothing and accessories at flagship stores in Seattle, New York City and Chicago, as well as online. The collections are expected to include work by designers and brands including Undercover, Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith and AllSaints. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is planning a Bowie-themed pop-up shop from mid-November through January, with activity across its museum store, online shop and airport location. The Hall also plans fan events around Bowie’s birthday weekend in January, including educational presentations, trivia, music and photo opportunities. A photography exhibition is planned alongside the activities, but its full details have not yet been announced.
