Filoni Confirms Mortis Gods Return in Ahsoka Season 2

Lucasfilm co-chief Dave Filoni has confirmed that the Mortis Gods will appear in Ahsoka Season 2, resolving one of the central mysteries left open by the show's first season. Filoni revealed the confirmation in an interview with Empire magazine, saying of the gods' role, "It's definitely a thing." The second season is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027. The Mortis Gods, also known as the Ones, were first introduced in a three-part Star Wars: The Clone Wars arc in 2011, comprising the episodes Overlords, Altar of Mortis, and Ghosts of Mortis. In that storyline, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka encounter three godlike manifestations of the Force: the Father, representing balance, the Daughter, representing the light side, and the Son, representing the dark side. The Daughter sacrificed herself to save Ahsoka's life during that arc. The figures resurfaced at the end of Ahsoka Season 1, which concluded with statues of the gods carved into rock on the planet Peridea, in a distant galaxy.
