Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was named the Professional Footballers' Association Men's Player of the Year on Tuesday night, capping a record-breaking season in which he shattered the Premier League assist record. The 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony was held at the Manchester Opera House, where Fernandes and Manchester City striker Khadija "Bunny" Shaw were the headline winners. Fernandes, 31, received the prestigious award, voted on by fellow professional players, after setting a new single-season Premier League record with 21 assists. He surpassed the previous mark of 20, held jointly by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
