Disney Greenlights Darkwing Duck Revival With Mark Hamill

Disney has officially greenlit a new Darkwing Duck animated series for Disney+, with Mark Hamill voicing the title role of the crimefighting duck and Seth Rogen voicing his sidekick Launchpad McQuack. The announcement, made by the streamer on September 22, 2026, sets the revival 35 years after the original character's debut. According to Disney's official logline, Darkwing Duck has been trapped for the last 35 years in an alternate world that has never heard of his superhero exploits, until a rebellious teen named Duckie, who knows his heroic past, pulls the ego-fueled vigilante back into battle. The duo then face old enemies such as Negaduck and Megavolt while reuniting with allies Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana. Lizzy Caplan voices Gosalyn Mallard, Darkwing's adoptive daughter, and Lilimar voices the new character Duckie. The supporting cast includes Dan Stevens as Glade McTowers, Tiffany Shepis as Rosa, Kathryn Newton as Firecracker, Teo Briones as Timb, Tyler Dean Flores as Pondsy, Katie Rich as Officer Shanks and Nat Faxon as Officer Webb. Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui serve as executive producers.
