Dells report 10 million funded accounts, pledge $6.25 billion

Published 9 October 2026

Michael and Susan Dell said they had committed $6.25 billion to fund Trump Accounts for 25 million children, with Michael Dell reporting that 10 million accounts had been funded and the remaining contributions were expected by October 9. The reported progress and deadline came after the couple promoted the government-backed savings initiative at a White House event on October 7. Susan Dell urged parents and grandparents to claim their children’s accounts, saying money was already waiting in them. She also encouraged families to contribute more, and spoke about letters from children who had described their future ambitions. The Dells’ pledge is intended to provide $250 to each of 25 million eligible children, a total of $6.25 billion. Michael Dell said the couple had funded 10 million accounts and expected to complete the commitment by October 9. That figure and deadline were reported from his progress update; the available accounts of the announcement do not independently verify that all 25 million deposits were completed. The pledge had been announced in December 2025. The Dell contributions are separate from the federal government’s $1,000 seed payment for qualifying U.S.
